Fees and Submissions/Mentoring Scheme

MENTORING SCHEME (£1,500)

To submit six sections of writing of up to 10,000 words each and a final manuscript of up to 60,000 words.

Terms

  • 50% of payment must be made in advance of scheme commencement. The remaining 50% will be payable following 3 mentoring sessions.
  • The final submission must be made no more than twelve months after the first submission.
  • No more than one installment can be submitted each month.
  • Students should allow 28 days for their mentor to respond to submitted material.
  • It will be possible to talk to a mentor on the phone or via email about submissions but this is at the discretion of the mentor concerned.
  • There is a £10 conversion charge for payments other than in sterling.
  • Submissions do not need to be expensively prepared and packaged – so long as they are clear and in hard copy format (ie. not on disc).
  • As only a limited number of authors can be accepted onto this scheme The Writers’ Advice Centre reserves the right to refuse applications. In such cases the author may be put on a waiting list.
  • Please note that in the unlikely event that we are unable to find you a suitable mentor The Writers’ Advice Centre reserves the right to offer a full refund.
  • In the unlikely event that mentor or student should become dissatisfied, we will do our best to rectify the situation. However, please be aware that the payment preceding each set of 3 sessions will not be refunded should the sessions already be underway.

To Use this Service

You now have three options:-
1. To pay by cheque print off the Mentoring Scheme Application Form and return it to us with your payment.
2. To pay by credit/debit card over the phone please telephone our office (0797 9905353) with your card details. We can then go through the application process with you.
3. Alternatively you can complete the whole process via our online shop. Click here which will take you to the shop which will, in turn, take you to our online form and payment details.

In all instances our office will be back in touch with the scheme start date within 1 – 3 working days of payment being received. Should your application be refused the payment will be refunded in full.
