Empathy Day 2020

This year’s Empathy Day is on 9th June. Empathy is a learnable skill and Empathy Day was founded to help us all understand and experience its transformational power. From The Empathy Lab, “We have now announced our plans, designed to have a huge impact in whatever scenario we all find ourselves by June. We have never needed empathy more, so please do get planning for how you can get involved.” Empathy Day will be preceded by a new 14 day Countdown starting 26 May. Resources include a new Family Activities Pack (available 18 May), plus activities for schools to use in school or home learning provision, supported by an Early Years and Schools Toolkit. Public libraries are playing a key role, through online empathy rhyme times and ebooks, and librarians are sharing great empathy reads via the National Shelf Service.
