New Book Festival

The Read Bookshop is launching the inaugural Holmfirth Children’s Book Festival, a not-for-profit children’s book festival with a mission to promote reading for pleasure among children. The two-day event will be held between 27th and 28th September, featuring authors from across the north of England, including Phil Earle (pictured), Ashley Thorpe, Abiola Bello and Matt Goodfellow. The programme will include events for all ages: from a Gruffalo Story Trail and Beano drawing workshop to an evening event with YA author Josh Silver. The festival is partnering with local affiliated schools to “embed a year round reading culture in Holmfirth”.
